Professor Helmut Anheier, full professor at UCLA's School of Public Policy and Research, and Centennial Professor at the London School of Economics, and Dr. Diana Leat, Visiting Professor at CASS Business School, London are co-authors of Creative Philanthropy. In this publication they state, “that foundations have done much good in the world is beyond doubt. But the key question is not ‘do foundations do good?' but rather ‘do foundations do the best they possibly could in the current environment?' Arguably, one of foundations' weaknesses is that the world has changed while they have remained much the same”.

Using the findings of Creative Philanthropy as their basis, Helmut and Diana separately spoke with Philanthropy Australia members in Melbourne and Sydney about the challenges and opportunities for philanthropists.
