- Alfred Felton left his estate for the establishment of the Alfred Felton Bequest.
- 1972 onwards
- James and Diana Ramsay have made donations to the Art Gallery of South Australia, enabling the purchase of works now worth over $8 million [1].
- 2007
- The Belgiorno-Nettis Foundation announced a $4 million donation to the Art Gallery of NSW, to convert storage space into a new contemporary art gallery.
- The Art Gallery of NSW reveals that an anonymous Sydney woman has pledged a $14 million bequest to the gallery when she dies on the condition that no details are revealed before she dies [2].
