This presentation was made in June 2005 by Rory Francisco-Tolentino, Executive Director, Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium and the Heloise Waizlitz Fellow for 2005. It introduces the Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium and its work in researching and supporting philanthropy in the Asia-Pacific region, with some information on the development of philanthropy in that part of the world. The paper also decsribes the work of the Philippine Business for Social Progress, a social development foundation created by Philippine business leaders in 1970.
